Op 26 maart 2021 promoveerde Valerie Koeken aan de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen met haar proefschrift getiteld ‘Host response in tuberculosis and BCG vaccination’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder supervisie van prof. dr. R. van Crevel, prof. dr. M.G. Netea en dr. A. van Laarhoven. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
