Op 10 februari 2017 promoveerde dr. A. Wagemakers aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam op het proefschrift: ‘Tick-host-Borrelia interactions: implications for host immunity and vaccination strategies’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder leiding van promotor prof. dr. T. van der Poll (afdeling Interne Geneeskunde, AMC, Amsterdam) en copromotores prof. dr. J.W.R. Hovius (afdeling Interne Geneeskunde, AMC, Amsterdam) en dr. A.D. Bins (afdeling Interne Geneeskunde, AMC, Amsterdam).
